Hello and welcome to the 2008 Farley Cup Awards!! I'm you're host, Dubya, and I am excited about what today has to offer for all of us out there in Bloggerville. This is the weekend we've all been waiting for, the weekend that sets apart the blogs from the Blogs, the day that the "foam rises to the top." That is, if you want to refer to yourselves as foam, I personally think it's kind of disgusting because foam can be so sticky and blobby feeling.... anyway, we're here to give out some awards so lets get started! This year, we're going to start with none other than the Best Blog Layout Award. This award goes to a clean, attractive blog that is not real busy with unnecessary text or strange colors. This Blog caught Farley's eye with it's attractive paisley looking flowery things in the background and a contrasting black for a backing to each post. Not to mention the color coordinating of the Bloggers clothing in their profile pic. This year's Farley goes to none other than, The Isoms.
Next, we're gonna slide out to the east a bit to give the That Made Me REALLY LOL, Not Just the Acronym Award. This award is given to a person who has a habit of making both Farley and me laugh. This post kept me wishing I had been there for this one. This year's Farley goes to Bruce Goddard for his picture with a bride who didn't have a clue who he was.
The next award on our list was a hard one for Farley to decide upon. There are so many good pics out there on everyones blogs, but this one really stood out for it's originality, plus it's eye catching presentation. The Best Pic of the Year, winning a Farley, goes to Kaspri Photography for this pic in Starbucks.
The next award is for the Most Surprising News of the Year. This year, there were several events that turned Farley's head, which is hard to do, considering it's stuck in one position; but this news did that very thing. It shocked us all, but we knew it was God's Plan. The Farley for the Most Surprising News of the Year goes to Bro. & Sis. Elms.
The previous award flows right into our next award, which is the Most Memorable Post Award. This award is given to the person(s) who left an impression on the lives at Dubya. Farley thought it only be fitting to give his award to the ones of whom this post we still speak of and are still, I think, in shock that it actually happened. The Farley goes to the newly named Pastor and Mrs. Gene Holley, Jr.
On a lighter note, here's an award for the Blog Killer. This award goes out to a recipient this year who went above and beyond to "kill" his blog. He has since brought it back to life, but for several weeks it was in a "black-out." You can't see it now, if you go visit it but we'll go ahead and award him a Farley for his efforts. Dialogue of Joseph James, congratulations on killing your blog.
Next, we have the Most Random Comments Award. This year, we have a new commenter to add to our Bloggerville community. He's worked hard to accomplish this task in just SIX MONTHS! I'm always left with a smile or scratching my head at the comments left by him, but one thing, I always laugh. Farley wanted to, so we are - John Holman(aka: Port-a-John) , congratulations on your Farley Cup!
Next, we have the I Take A Lot Of Pics Of My Car And Post Them On My Blog Award. Now this one is a hard one to accomplish seeing as you have to spend a lot of time traveling or in or around your car in order to get all these pics, but there is one lady who has accomplished it. We've lost count on how many there are, but you can go to her blog and within seconds see at least one pic of that "little convertible." Sis. Elms, you win another Farley, and I'll not comment on the Farley hat and glasses:)!
Now, for the Best Idea That Has Seemed to Fizzle Award. This award goes to an individual who had a great idea, but it's kind of hard to make an egg look like so many different people, so it stopped a few weeks back. James Cain, you get a Farley for effort!
Next we have the Why Do I Still Have a Blog Award. Probably not a hard one to figure out, but this blog jumps from Zach and Amber's wedding, back to Lori's wedding, back to Heidi being born, all the way back to Kassie and Joseph laughing in his kitchen in 2007, all on the first page of her blog; proving her love for blogging with every gap. Priscilla Brunhilda, you win a Farley!
The next two awards are given for in-house accomplishments on Dubya, Inc.
The first one is for the Best GIBI. For those who don't know, GIBI stands for Good Idea/Bad Idea and is listed once a week on our blog as a service to the public just in case you should try some of these little things in life. As a priority, we want to keep our viewers well informed and safe, so it is our duty to post these every Monday morning. Some have happened and some are just good ideas.... and bad ideas. Anyway, here's this year's Best GIBI. It is one that happened to a good friend of mine who shall remain nameless, but lives in the DFW area and has his own blog. I happened to be on the phone with him when it happened and it became quite funny. Congrats to Jason.... OOPS, I mean my friend.
The next award is for the Most Comments Left To A 2008 Dubya Post Award. This award is pretty self explanatory so for time constraints, I will just give the award. Good Bye Moto, you win the Farley.
This next award goes for a pet of one of our viewers. Farley was concerned when he saw this pic and wanted to try and make the pet feel a bit better by giving it an award. This year's Best Pic of Pet Award goes to a dog that discovered what running across the big blue hole in the ground will do. Cookie, you win a Farley!
Next we have the I Keep People Reading Award. This award goes to a blog that, well... keeps people reading which is pretty important when you are a Blogger. This year's Farley goes to Holley Life and Times, which has probably 200,000 hits by now(we would know this though, because SOMEBODY took their counter off.)
Next we have the Best Pic of the Week, which automatically goes to Sis. Kassie because she's the one who does this whole Pic of the Week thing. So, Sis. Kassie, here's your Farley for this pic.
And last, but not least, we have our #1 Farley Fan Award. This award usually goes to an individual who is caught in the act of wearing a Farley Hat and sunglasses, BUT this year, Farley decided to give an award to a person who is always looking out for Dubya, Inc. looking for ways to improve our sight and sightings. This person, recently reported a Farley Fan sighting but simply didn't have her camera ready. He would have made a great award recipient, but we'll give the Farley to Julie K. Shahan instead. Thank you for all you do to help us out at Dubya, Inc.
Well, we hope you've enjoyed this 2008 edition of the FCA's and we hope you'll join us next year at this same time for the 2009 FCA's. Until then, keep blogging!
-approved by Farley Wells, CMDI who sure does like the look of his Farley Cup.

Just a question, u seemed to given awards to everyone except your wife?
How about the new kid on the block? Who else but ME!
HELLO!!! It's not me, it's FARLEY!!! Send your complaints to him!
WELL!! I thought these 2 were one.
It's good to see the awards I won were not so "self-centered" this year... LOL.
Thanks for the honors bestowed upon our blog! It is truly a humbling experience to attain such an award. Cookie sure didn't have to do much. Goes to prove that "even a blind pig finds an acorn every once in a while!" (Whatever that means!) Thank you, thank you, thank you....
I'm humbled to receive such a prestigous award. I would like to thank the unknown bride who made me feel like family on her special day.
Bro. Gene, you saved the quote of the year for the comment to a Farley award???? "Blind pig....acorn???" LOL!!!!
You are all welcome. It was the least Farley could do!
I'm surprised that your oldest sis didn't win the "2008 Capturing the Most Wonderful and Perfect Man Award"
Ahhh...thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so "overwhelmed" again this year! I love getting Farley Awards! :) I'm already trying to figure out what I need to do this next year to get another one. LOL!
Port-a-John: Point proven...
Sis. Elms: That's the spirit, that's the reason you've one so many! Always trying to find new and innovative ways to win a Farley:)
Sis Elms I would not recommend falling into a bush while talking on a cell phone. While it is humbling to win a Farley I would have much rather received one for my prose on dandy lions
