On this beautiful March day, after spending time running errands, I now sit; content. I’m content with looking out the window across the ‘metropolitan skyline’ of Iowa Park, watching the Lone Star gently waving over City Hall; I, letting out a restful sigh, kicked back, settled in, and just enjoying the beautiful blue skies of Texas, one of the many things I truly love about Texas. North Central Texas, to be specific. Did you know that if you just stare into the skies, you’ll notice a hawk flying over, scouring the countryside for that lone snake slithering across the ground - soon becoming dinner? If you look even closer, you'll see jumbo jets that look like ants, far… far above us, heading for probably Dallas or Houston? Staring off in the distance, to the west, you can see a bit of smoke on the horizon. Is it a wildfire, or is it just the Oklaunion Power Plant generating more energy for all of Texas to consume? Look the other way and you see a new water tower being assembled for the new, “Largest in the World”, reverse osmosis plant being built at the Cyprus Water Plant in Wichita Falls. Look south, you see trees which hint that we are in a valley between the Red and Wichita Rivers. Look north, not much but an ugly gabled roof of the funeral home chapel, blocking the view of Oklahoma, thank God! Sorry for any Okie’s out there reading today. Which reminds me of a joke my dad tells, “Why does Oklahoma put ‘OK’ on its license plates? Because mediocre it too hard to spell!”What was that?? Looks like number 25 just ran by. Break out the sticky trap, we’re gonna bust another member of the Mouse Mafia. You’re goin’ DOWN Mickey!!!!
Hope your Wednesday is as good as mine.
