Thank you Joseph for giving me something to post about. As anyone can see, yesterday was a bit lacking in the subject department. Four things I love about Spring, Yeah!:
1. Light: We have light longer. More light to ride bikes, walk, sit outside, wave at neighbors you act like you know, more light for eating, more for swinging on a porch swing, enjoying the cool spring air. I like more light.
2. Grilling: Nothing says Spring like a fired up grill, cooking a "Manly" steak.... or "Womanly" chicken. The smell of all the different seasonings sizzling over an open flame. Now that is Spring!
3. Baseball: The haze of the lights just over the trees, the crack of a bat sending a leather ball over the centerfield fence, dust rising from a runner sprinting home just to hear the Ump yell "YER, OUTTA THERE!!!" The memory of a radio blasting Mark Holts and Eric Nadell broadcasting Nolan Ryan and the Texas Rangers and saying, "Hello Win Column." I'd have to say one of my fondest things of Spring.
4. Freshly mowed grass: The smell of it is unlike any other. Though I'm allergic, I love it! I love to take off my flip-flops(#5, if I were allowed) and just walk through it, letting each blade run between my toes. One reason I can't wait to have a yard of my own!
