It's COLD!!!

(Not a Local Pic, but if you take out the water and the tall trees in the background and replace them with short mesquite trees and weeds covered in ice, you'll have an idea of what Iowa Park looks like right now.)

Hello everyone! Today is one of those days that makes me love winter. It's an icy day where we are forced to stay home because you just simply cannot go ANYWHERE without sliding off of the road. This is the first time I have ever had to change appointments with families at work to keep both the family and myself safe. I couldn't have made it to work if I'd have tried, or at least I wouldn't have made it til probably 1 PM, leaving at normal time!

It's given me a chance to brush up on my "Cyber Funeral Director" skills! Yep! I can do that now... to a point. Now that email and the internet are as common as a refrigerator in everyone's home, I have already been able to arrange a service for Friday in our chapel, a visitation the night before, got all the vital stats info I need for filing paperwork, got an obituary ready, helped a family get tickets from Chicago to DFW for a Wednesday flight, and simply need to print a contract for them to sign upon arrival to the funeral home on Thursday. All of this from the convenience of my big chair, with my feet propped up by the fire, made possible by my newly named iPhone secretary, Ulga. She's definitely earned her money today! So, here's to a full day's work from my livingroom! I think I just found my calling.

Hope you're enjoying your day, whether frozen or not! Type at you later, Ulga's got another email for me to read.
