My New Friends

Thought I'd introduce you all to my new found friends. These brushes have become very dear to me over the past week, for no other reason but that I have spent many hours and will continue for many more hours to bond with them while making our house, our home.
I've also become much closer to my friend Gilbert up at Parkway TrueValue here in Iowa Park. He's my "Personal Paint Mixer (PPM)." If you ever need good quality paint at a good price, and you need that color you only found in a magazine, talk to Gilbert. He'll hook you up!
I've found it amazing the subjects that come up while waiting for the paint shaker to finish shaking the daylights out of my selected paint can. We've talked about the weather, the war, city issues, Obama being an idiot, pre-arranging his funeral, what in the world possessed us to pick the colors we do, the neighborhood we are moving to, church (both his and mine), and our pets. He always seems to have some little catchy something to tell me, or try to sell me.
After the paint is ready to vomit from shaking it so hard, he gets it out, takes the lid off, and always makes a joke saying, "Now, it was supposed to be mustard yellow/bubblegum pink/neon green/bright purple. Right?" He makes certain the color he says is a million miles from what it actually is.
I have actually known Gilbert for many years. He's a great friend and a respected elder in our community. I think a lot of him. Thanks Gilbert, for making buying paint just that much more enjoyable.
