Fowl Friday.

Friday has been a welcome end to a long week. Though my week doesn't end until Monday at 5, I am so glad we've finally gotten this far. Saturday and Sunday should fly by, as usual.

I learned something I didn't know, in my almost 30 years, about my dad today! We were sitting around the lounge table with our funeral help eating a quick lunch and the subject came up about turkey season, which by the way, Kim, look out! Turkey are about to be all over the place, seeing as it is their season. Anyway, I found out that he, when he was young, raised birds. Yes, birds. He would raise pheasant, quail, dove, and I think he even said duck at one time. He told a story about how his dad brought home some endangered quail eggs he found on the ground one day while working on an oil lease near Electra. My dad took the eggs and placed them under a bani hen to hatch. He then raised them to adulthood and released them. He even released around 100 or so pheasant at one time! He never has hunted them, but had a soft spot for them and always tried to help them out. The daddy I HAVE known for nearly 30 years, always helping someone in need.

Learn something new everyday. Guess that explains his "Fowl" moods! HAHA!!! Get it?!?

-approved by Farley Wells, SAD-CMDI who was mauled once by a blue jay walking home one day from school.

Hey, I didn't know that either. I am afraid of ducks and birds. Guess I didn't take after Daddy in that area....
