I found out Monday that I am officially one step closer to becoming a Licensed Pre-Arrangement Counselor in the State of Texas. Yay for me! After taking the Banking Department's Test for the 2nd time, I found out that I passed with walking colors. Yes, walking not flying! I certainly could have done better, but I am so happy to be past that test that I don't even care what I made, I PASSED!! If you don't know what I'm talking about, a person has to have an insurance license in the State of Texas in order to sale or write pre-arranged funeral services. I've been a licensed Funeral Director for just over 3 years now and our company felt that I would be a great asset to them in Iowa Park if I could sell preneeds, so here I am. Now, all I have to do is obtain my license from the state by registering my finger prints and paying $34.62 to the TXDPS. Almost scary sounding.... I guess I can't cheat anyone out of money now. Just kidding for any of you Police Officers who drifted over from the Dialogue of Joseph James. I REALLY am KIDDING!!
Anyway, for those who don't know what a pre-arranged funeral service is, it is simply purchasing your funeral service, making your wishes known, and locking the price in at today's cost. With the way everything is going up on an almost daily basis, it is certain that the cost of funerals will go up as well. For instance, I have serviced pre-arrangements that cost a family $650.00 when they purchased them 30 years ago, that had they have not purchased them, the service would now cost $9,000.00 or more. So, as you can see, they saved a FORTUNE by locking the price in 30 years ago, not to mention the financial burden that is lifted from your children, grandchildren, and family at the time of need. It's not a "R.I.P.-off", as our Funeral Industry Hating AARP proclaims, you just have to buy them from honest funeral establishments, like..... well, ours! Every industry has it's bad apples, so please take it from me, I've seen it work time after time after time, it is one of the wisest financial moves a person can make.
So, if you would like some assistance in this area, now you know who to call. At least, after I get my license in from the State.
-approved by Farley Wells, CMDI who just purchased his own pre-arrangement.

CONGRATULATIONS, LYNN! I know you'll be a great salesman. In fact, you just a-l-m-o-s-t sold me on a "pre-need plan" and I don't even have any information, yet. Anyway, I'm happy for you!
Well, thank you Sis. Elms.
