My Friend

Just wanted to introduce everyone to my friend Dennis. He's a man I've come to know through my job, and since meeting, have become close to him. He's a local Minister of Music at a church here in town. I call him "Dr. Dennis," to which he returns, "Young Dr. Dutton", and I tease him about being my Funeral Minister Specialist. Reason being, he's always there for families when there's no other minister, and now, word has gotten out so much that he's actually requested by families on a consistent basis! It's always a joke when I call him, because he knows exactly why I'm calling every time. It says something about a man who is willing to drop everything he's doing for complete strangers in need. Kind of sounds like what we all should be doing as Christians.

Anyway, to make a long story short, Sunday I found out that he was in the hospital with some very serious health concerns. Here is the link, in case you'd like to read about the situation. His daughter is "blogging" the whole experience on this site.

He's come a long way since everything happened but the road is still rocky(sorry about the pun Dennis) to recovery. I just wanted to let everyone know because I know there are a lot of praying people who read this blog, and Dennis means a lot to me and my family. So, if you get a chance, pray for Dennis. He and his family will appreciate it.
