Overdue

I'm off today, for the last time for about two weeks, because my parents are going on vacation. With both of them gone, I am left to tend to the funeral home alone. It always scares me because EVERY TIME they leave town, we get swamped! Last time, I got four calls(deaths) the day they left town and stayed extremely busy all the way until they got home. So, we'll see how this time will be.

Anyway, with this being my last day off, I thought I'd show you a few things that are overdue. We'll start with a random picture of my infamous "day-off hair" that is overdue for a haircut. If you look in the background you will see the beautiful, early 90's, shell wallpaper that is certainly overdue for updating in our main bathroom.

The next pictures are a few months overdue. These would be of our new home. I know I promised them earlier and will not break a promise, so here are a few. Outside only, Kim would kill me if I took them of the inside right now! The first picture is as you pull up to the house. So what's overdue in this picture??? Well, that would be the trash in the can on the right side of the picture. Trash day is tomorrow and with all the weekend festivities, it's not a day too soon!

The next would be a picture of the back of the house. I love our new patio, complete with patio furniture (thank you Kim's parents). In the evenings, even when it's been 100 degrees, there's a cool breeze and shade to greet you as you walk out the back door. What's overdue? I'd say the trimming of the hedges. They have thorns and I'm taking my sweet time about getting to that! Besides, they have pretty flowers that are in bloom thanks to all the rain.

Next, just another picture of the back of the house. I took this one from the southeast corner of our yard. Overdue? The little tree coming up in the lower right is overdue for a stick to make certain it grows straight. It's the only tree so far in our back yard, but all that is probably about to change thanks to a gift certificate to Harris Nursery from my aunt.

Next, the view from the back door. Our house sits on a small hill which allows us to have a good view of the neighborhood, and too good of a view in the neighbors' backyards! Overdue? the candle holder in the lower right corner has been there since the day we moved in and has yet to hold a candle, but doesn't the yard look green!!!

Last, for now, another view from the patio. This picture looks toward the street that backs up to our neighbor's home. Yet another example of us being able to see EVERYTHING from our patio. Overdue? The grill on the right needs to be cleaned up and covered up from the weekend use. Yeah, I've been off for a few days but haven't gotten around to it yet, but doesn't the yard look green!!!!

These are the first of many pictures to come, but don't expect them anytime soon. Whenever we get the inside complete, we'll take more pictures.
