I just happened upon a blog this morning and noticed where the author (he) doesn't believe a woman should have the opportunity to be president of the United States of America. I would certainly like to know more about this opinion. As all of you know, this is far from what I believe. I feel that anyone, who is an American by birth, should have a chance at the highest office in the land, if they so desire. Now, this is not saying that EVERYONE is qualified to be president, as proven by our democrat nominee, but it is saying that as Americans, we are all equal. We each have the God given right to be free and to be able to pursue the Chief office of the United States of America, man or woman.I would like to know, if a woman shouldn't be president, where should she be? Should she stay at home, barefoot and pregnant, cooking her husband his meals, ironing his shirts, and cleaning up after him? Sounds like male chauvinism to me. Should a female not be president, should she not also be allowed to be CEO or CFO of a large corporation or owner of a small business? If a woman shouldn't be president, should she be allowed to vote for one, because if she is not worthy of holding the office, why should she be allowed an opinion on the male that does? If she has no opinion, then should she even be allowed out of the home? Shouldn't she have to cover her face when in public, because she is not worthy of societal acknowledgement? Sounds like more of a fascist, communistic, dictatorship to me, not the United States of America.
I know that in our organization, the United Pentecostal Church International, we have Pastors who are female. We have female leaders holding high positions in our sections, districts, nationally and internationally. We even have women who lead our services to help usher in the presence of God. What higher honor or responsibility could there be than entertaining the presence of Almighty God?If we say a woman can't be president, but we are a part of an organization who has female leaders that we support, are we not living a double standard? You may say, "well in my church, we don't have a female Pastor and I'll never support one", but hold on a second. If your church is a member of our organization, you are supporting it's leaders all across the world, and in so doing, you are supporting a leader somewhere that is female.
I say, if he OR SHE is capable of doing the job, be it, staying home with the kids, giving a shot down at the clinic, being in law enforcement, running a business, being a pastor or being president, MORE POWER TO THEM! That's the American way!
The woman running for VP now would surely do a better job as president than the Socialist MALE, with no executive experience on the "demie" side! In fact, she's actually proven, with her EXECUTIVE position in Alaska, that she knows what she's doing and can do it quite well!
