My speakers for our surround sound have been packed away until that morning, waiting for the moment to arrive that they would be “wanted” and “needed” again. Awww… anyway, the time came. It was 70 degrees outside most of the day and I found it to be perfect weather to get this project out of the way.
I drilled the holes in the ceiling where I wanted the wire to go through, mounted the speakers and began fishing the wire through the holes. After my arms tired, I decided it would be easier to go into the attic and pull the wiring through that way, so off I went.
After hoisting myself up into an attic who’s opening was 4 feet higher than my tallest latter, I scaled the rafters and waded through insulation, which was surprisingly not quite as thick as I thought it would be…. note to self: Might just be part of the whole energy-a/c running all the time problem, fix before next summer. I finally spotted the wire I had pushed up through the ceiling and made my way to it. I grabbed it and began to pull. It came easily for a bit and then became EXTREMELY difficult to pull any further. I pulled, pulled, and pulled some more and finally got to what I thought was the end of the wiring.
I then ran the wire down the wall I wanted and made my decent to the garage, note to self: don’t whistle while crawling in insulation. It doesn’t taste good. Oh, and buy a taller latter! Anyway, I was all happy, being the handyman I felt I was until I walked into the livingroom and saw something shocking but humerous. You know the fireplace utensil holder with the log grabber, sharp pointed thingy and the mini shovel, well, it was now dangling from the ceiling; held only by a precious wire I had so fervently pulled only a few moments earlier; evidently the cause for the struggle. I was in such a panic to get it down without ripping the wire in two or ripping the ceiling down that I forgot to take a photo. It would have gone great with this blog right about now, but since I missed the photo op, this pic will have to do. It has nothing to do with my story.
Everything turned out fine, I got it all down and back in place before Kim ever got home to see what I had done. Oh and, our surround sound sounds great!! Something just smells like it's burning when I turn it on... can't imagine what it could be!-approved by Farley Wells, CMDI who once hung a cat that way. Was it an accident?? We'll never know.

Well, while a certain man (we won't say his name), was working in our attic a few months back, he wasn't exactly paying attention to what he was doing, and he stepped through the ceiling! Now, he was thanking God that it happened in the garage and not in the house, because someone (being me) would have been madder than a hornet! But I don't care about the garage!
Niiiice lol and love the totally random picture. XD
Kyle stepped through our ceiling in the garage also. I cut the hole out and installed a ceiling vent. My A/C guy said that he wished more people would vent their garages as well, to keep out car fumes and extreme heat.
Let's all bind together, in a group effort, to go and step through our garage ceilings!!!! WE NEED MORE VENTS!! :)
Bro James, that is exactly what we did! We have a vent in the garage too!
