Farley's Friday FPlumbing FTip

Well, here we are at the end of an eventful week. I thought it would only be appropriate to have Farley give us a tip on how to avoid a situation like the one Kim and I have found ourselves in, so take it away Farley.

Well, in this week's tip, we will discuss how to avoid a "mess" when experiencing a stoppage in the lines. If you use your facility and notice a gurgling noise from the toilet after you flush, go immediately to the outside drain and remove the white plastic cap. This will relieve pressure in the lines and avoid blowing out the wax ring at the base of the toilet and costing you hundreds of dollars in carpet removal and re-laying fees, much like my good friend is going through now. Then you want to call your Home Warranty Company ASAP because it will probably take several calls and a threat of an attorney in order to get a plumber to actually call you within a reasonable amount of time. Then get towels, starting with the oldest in the house, which will save the new pretty, green polka dot towels and quite possibly your marriage, and place them tightly at the base of the toilets in the home. This will catch any water that might want to journey to the bedrooms and give a funky nasty smell that will greet you at the door of the home after a hard days work, for months to come. Then hope and pray the plumber fixes it when he arrives a day later.

Well, that's it for this weeks tip! Thanks Farley for the "a few days late" advice. You always have just the PERFECT timing!!

- of course its approved, DUH!!
