Anniversary/Family Fest 08

This past weekend was a lot of fun. Kim and I got away for a much needed "rest". Friday, we left here at 9:30 for Fort Worth. We arrived at Kim's mom's work a little early for lunch and I had just enough time to lay on one of their "Rollie Back Bed Things" that loosens back muscles and gets them "moving." It was SO nice! Then I had just enough time to slip in between patients and let the doc give me a "Back Adjustment." Even better! For those wondering, Kim's mom works for a Chiropractor. After that, we went to eat lunch with Kim's mom at "El Parroto"(it was named The Parrot, but I liked my name better). It was good, but I wouldn't recommend going there after dark.
Friday night, Kim and I had our Anniversary Date. We went downtown Fort Worth to eat at P.F. Chang, a place I love for Chinese food. I had the Dali Chicken, which gave me a burning Dali Tongue, and later led to a Dali "emergency." Tastes great, but don't eat the little peppers! When we finished there, we walked around downtown, visited Kim's favorite shops, bought Starbucks at Barnes & Noble, I sat while Kim read books on her favorite subject, "Babies", and that about wrapped up the evening.
Saturday, we went to the Modern Art Museum with Shane, Amanda, and the kids. We quickly discovered that the art on the first floor, "by Kate Walker", was not the place for children.... or us for that matter! So filled with hatred, perversion, and just plain evil; so, we went upstairs to the "G Rated" floor. We saw paintings that made no sense, paintings that I could have done by accident with a drop cloth, painting my home, and there were some that just made you go, "OKAY, airplanes flying in a house. Weird, but cool." Afterward, we went to a bit more Texan of a museum. The Cowgirl Museum. YES, it was pictures of all the girls who have ever danced a jig for a football game at Texas Stadium. It was GREAT.... just kidding. It was actually pretty interesting. It was about cowgirls in Texas and how they performed in rodeos and worked on ranches and things like that.
Saturday night, we went to a going away party for Amy, Kim's cousin, who is actually moving here, to Wichita Falls, to go to MSU and our church; so it was kinda neat going to a going away party where the person wasn't going away from us. After that, we went riding bikes with Kim's parents and Kim's dad gave me a new bike!! We were riding along and he just said out of the blue, "You like that bike?" I said, "Yeah", and he said, "Good, it's yours!" It was kind of a flashback to "Escape School" for some reason. Some may say, "It's just a bike, but it's far from it! This is one of those that you can literally lift with your finger. No telling how much it cost him. Thank you so much, David, for your generosity.
Sunday morning we went to church where we heard Shane preach on "Believe It, Perceive It, and Receive It" and he did a GREAT job! After church we went and ate, I won't even go into that, Pancho's BUHHH!! and then went to IKEA, YAY!!! We bought EVERYTHING in the store!! Okay, maybe not, but we did buy a lot of stuff for the home.
Monday, we went to lunch with Kim's parents and ran around "Window Shopping" after which, we drove home. Kim's parents followed us in David's truck to haul home IKEA for us, Kim fixed them dinner, and they left.
WOW, what a weekend! I had so much fun and really enjoyed the family time! Thanks David and Regina for putting up with us for a few days. Love Y'all! Sorry this post is so long, but there was a lot to cover. I'm sure Kim will post some pics of it before long so look for that on her blog. For now, goodnight!

-approved by Farley Wells, CMDI who is happy to have us back!
