Kiss of Death

With all of my mouse catching experience, I have realized that mice are stupid. Not that I didn't already know that, but they really are. The Mouse Mafia has no concept of the fact that I have fed each of their fallen friends and co-conspirators the EXACT same thing they are tempted to taste; Hershey's Kiss with a bed of peanut butter, YUM! Gone are the days of cheese! This is a new generation of mice, one who have been spoiled to the successes of their parents who wanted more for their little micelings than the mere chunk of cheese they had growing up; so American of them! Each mouse doesn't even realize that at the bottom of that Hershey's Kiss on a bed of peanut butter is either a stickiness beyond imagination, or the slamming of a tunnel door which leaves them awaiting their meeting with the heel of a shoe, grinding their cute little face against the ground; complete with a final visit to the dumpster next to last week's pizza and chicken bones garnished with shredded paperwork from a week's worth of business…OH, and the neighbor's trash from across the street who thinks he is ever so clever with his occasional dumping in our dumpster, YEAH, WE'RE ON TO YOU, Dumpster space THIEF!! Anyway, mice are stupid, but are they any more stupid than humans? Really! Think about it. We find ourselves in similar situations. We're tempted by the "Kiss," knowing full well what has happened in the past and to many others who have fallen for the same temptation, reaching out to grab the Kiss with peanut butter, just to find ourselves stuck to life's sticky trap and before we know it we're in over our heads in life's dumpster. Hmmm…. I'd say there's a lesson to learn from, now 18, fallen mice. Watch out for the "Kiss of Death."
