Around the World and Back Again!

Well, at least I feel that way! Hello from the world of the week old blog. We're finally done with Christmas with both families and are settling in for a quiet New Year's Eve at home. I haven't had any time what so ever to blog about what I got for Christmas this year and for the most part, it was pretty much the norm, clothes, socks, cologne, all of which I was VERY glad to see and extremely thankful to receive. There is one gift that seemed to mark a small milestone in my life though. It was a gift given by my sister to me that was ever so "special", of which I was told several times prior to Christmas Day. Kassie definitely deserves a Farley Cup Award for this one. She caused me to reach the 100 mark in my cap collection with a rather witty gift. It is a red(Farley's Favorite Color) cap with "DUBYA" embroidered on the front. I had to wear it the remainder of our gift opening ceremony... quite special indeed.

This weekend, we went to Kim's family's for Christmas with the Dawson's and the Nash's. This is always a great time with a family that is very loving and VERY close to one another. They always have a little competition between Kim's mom, aunts and uncles that is always quite humorous. The goal is to argue about who was the best all year and to give a gag gift of some sort. Very funny and sometimes touching when you get to see big ole Dennis tear up at the love shown from his sisters. The night always ends with a Chinese Christmas where we try to get the gift WE bought and this year, I came home with a $25 iTunes card. I'll put that to good use, no doubt!
Kim's parents gave me an addition to my stadium collection with Shea Stadium where the NY Mets play. Thanks Regina and David! I have the perfect place for it in the curio.

We really had a great time and I enjoyed every minute spent with friends and family. I have decided to leave you with a picture that gave Kim and I a start when she opened her memaw's front door to go out to the car. Don't worry, it wasn't due to Kim's driving, the neighbor was burning trash just across the street, but it did make for a great picture!
