Back from the East

Ahh... Back from the sweaty, sultry, hot Lufkin, TX. I often wonder why the Texas District chose... well, you know where, for God's People to meet in for their Campmeeting. I mean, come on, the weather is just atrociously hot and humid, it's about as far to Kansas as it is to Lufkin, and the water smells like.... well, you know. I was SO happy when we arrived in Dallas and stopped for a break, the weather was hot, but I didn't sweat the whole time I was outside... and then there's God's Country. Wichita Falls! I know many may disagree, but there's just something about Wichita Falls and Wichita County. I just really love my hometown. We need to move Camp here, let everyone else travel for awhile. Can you tell I'm in a good mood today?
All Lufkin yuck aside, Campmeeting was AWESOME!!! We went down on Thursday and was able to be there to hear Bro. Mooney preach, VERY GOOD... I left wishing I had heard him all week. Then there was Friday, we heard Bro. Mullins in the morning and then had a Holy Ghost Crusade Friday night. It was amazing! I've never been to a Crusade before and at this one 246 people just happened to get the Holy Ghost. Unbelievable... I was truly amazed.
However, what really blew me away was the choir that sang. They were called Windsong. I had never heard of Windsong until then. Turns out, it's a Rehabilitation Center for Drug, Alcohol and other addicts. Several of them testified about what God had done for them and then they sang. True, I have heard better vocalists, but I have NEVER heard such sincerity in all of my life. They sang a song that had been sung by a group the previous night. I had remembered the song because Thursday night, I did not particularly like the song. The group was good, but it was just one of those songs that seemed a bit wordy and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it was just me, but then when Windsong sang the very same song, oh my goodness, I just cried. I watched as each one of them sang it with depth, sincerity, and expression because they were 'fresh' out of a life of sin and filth and I was just left in awe at there worship. It reminded me of when I first came back to God, our choir sang, "Champion of Love," a song I had heard a hundred times before, but this time, it was different because I had been out of His will and in that service, felt His loving arms wrap around me and Him tell me not to worry, He loved me and had taken care of everything. I guess it affected me because I had sort of been down that road, and I think we all have those times, if we would just always live with the same passion we had when we found our way back to God. There's no telling what God would do! For more, I'll be preaching in tonight's service....LOL!!! Yeah right!

Lynn, I whole-heartedly agree with you about "God's country!" LOL.

Campmeeting was AWESOME!!! We were on the front row watching as some of the people that had sang in the Windsong choir made their laps around the building, and the looks on their faces were priceless! They were totally oblivious to whoever was watching them. What incredible things God has done!!!

I am so glad Campmeeting was wonderful! I agree about Lufkin - the water is nasty. We missed seeing everyone, but maybe next year we can get there.... Thanks for the report!

Lynn, I was in awe, also! The power of God was so incredible in the service Friday night. To see so many people receive the Holy Ghost so quickly was amazing! I wish you could have been at all the services for Camp Meeting. The preaching and teaching was wonderful! I was happy to see you all.
